The content of aside tag is related to the main or primary content of the page but it doesn't define the purpose of web page completely. It only defines the purpose of main content or provide information about it.
In the above example the content of aside tag is related to the main content (placed in article tag) and it provides extra information about it.

All major browsers support HTML aside Tag. However the aside tag is not supported in Internet Explorer 8.0 and earlier versions.
