- First, activate your Hotspot in your Android mobile or iPhone.
- Now turn off Wi-Fi of your computer/laptop.
- To turn off Wi-Fi on your windows 11 device, click on Wi-Fi signal icon on the taskbar.
- The Quick action settings will appear, on the quick action settings, click on Wi-Fi option to open Wi-Fi connection settings.
- Now, click on Disconnect to disconnect the connected network.
- Once your Wi-Fi is disconnected, plug in your android mobile or iPhone using USB cable.
- That's it, the Ethernet Icon will appear on the taskbar of Windows 11 and USB Tethering is done.
Fix USB Tethering Not Working in Windows 11
If USB Tethering is not working on your Windows 11 device, then follow these steps to fix this issue.
- First, click on Search icon on the taskbar, to open the Search window.
- Now type in Device Manager, in the search bar of Search window.
- Click Device Manager icon to open the Device Manager window.
- Now click on Network adapters to expand this section.
- Now right click on Network Connection and then click on update driver.
- Select "Browse my computer for drivers" option.
- Then click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
- Uncheck the option "Show compatible hardware".
- Now look for Microsoft option on the left side of window, in the list of Manufacturer and select it.
- Now under "Model" section, find USB RNDIS6 Adapter and select it.
- Click on Next and then Yes to install this driver and that's it.
Now try to set up USB Tethering again on your Windows 11 device and it should work now.
