HTML ol Tag defines an ordered list on the website or web page. Default list style of ordered list element is numerical or decimal.

Syntax of HTML ol Tag

The Syntax of HTML ol Tag is shown below, It has both starting tag and ending tag.

HTML ol Tag is used to make a list of items for the HTML document or website. type attribute is used to define the list style of list items.

CSS list-style-type property can also be used to set the type of list style of the ordered list tag.

Default list style of ordered list tag is numerical or decimal but Greek, Roman, Armenian, Georgian, Alphabetical are also used.

We can also use an image as list style item.

start attribute is used to define the start value of ordered list.

Simple example of HTML ol Tag is given below.

</ol>

In above example we have used ol tag to define a list of web languages.
