Table of Contents
HTML Code
HTML Code is given below, we have a paragraph tag for the text and a button tag with onclick event to trigger the JavaScript function.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<title>Show and Hide Text Onclick with JavaScript</title>
</head>
<body>
<p id="text">Hello World!</p>
<button onclick="showHide()">Show/Hide</button>
</body>
</html>
JavaScript Code
Take a look at the JavaScript code given below.
<script>
var x = 0;
function showHide()
{
if(x==0){
document.getElementById('text').style='display:none;';
x=1;
}
else{
document.getElementById('text').style='display:block;';
x=0;
}
}
</script>
On button click function will be executed which will check the current state of text, if it's hidden then the text will be displayed and if is already visible then it will be hidden.
This is done using .getElementById() method and .style property.
